Hey guys,
So if you haven't noticed, I've been in this back-to-school reading slump. I've been loaded with extracurriculars and homework, and I took 4 tests this week. I'm trying to set aside time for reading, but I'm barely getting by with sleep.

Hey guys,
Sorry I've been away for so long, it's been a crazy past few weeks. I just started school, and we've been having homework, spirit week, homecoming, and all that other crazy goodness. I haven't really gotten time to just sit down and read, so I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. A bunch of my most anticipated books of 2015 are coming out really soon, so I'm hoping that helps me bounce out of this slump. Hey guys,
So I went to the book sale yesterday and I didn't scour all the baskets like I normally do, looking for any books. I went, and I only looked at YA (except I did end up getting non-YA books that I happened upon). I'm not really sure HOW, but all the books I got, minus one, are hardcover. Hi guys! So I'm really sorry that I've been so inactive and dead lately. I'm trying my best to get out of this stupid writing slump and I'm super determined to be as active as I can for this month. So I made myself a little plan: read books then write about them. I know, I'm a genius.
So you can't go very far in life saying that you love books without people asking you what classics you've read. I don't read classics too often, having tried to pick up Pride and Prejudice and only gotten about 50 pages in. Now, my mom didn't grow up in America, so she never had to read all the American classics my dad did. So, knowing that I was planning to read To Kill A Mockingbird over the summer, she picked it up from the library and read it in July. Or, at least tried to. Because after about 100 pages, she deserted it, claiming that nothing was happening. And that was the end of that.
Hi guys, today I have my September TBR for you. I'm trying to finish up some series, and also start one that is going to be a movie very soon. There aren't as many books as usual just because I have NO IDEA how much time I'm going to have to read this month, but I still do want to reach my goal of reading 100 books this year! So here are the books I'm going to be reading this month:
Hi guys, today I have my August Wrap-Up. I can't believe summer is already over, and I'm going back to class soon. I will do my best to post at least once a week once classes start up again. With the PJO challenge, I read A TON of books this month, so without further ado, here are the books that I've read this month.
So a couple weeks ago, I watched the Insurgent movie. I was supposed to see it with Gazelle, but that didn't happen. Just from the trailer, I could tell that the movie had a bigger budget and they knew how to use it. With the holograms everywhere and the more vivid sims, this movie was definitely getting their bang for their buck. However, I usually get annoyed when movies add things like the holograms because, even though they're a nice touch, they poke holes in the story because of their absence in the previous movie.
*On the left is the US cover and the right is the UK cover (I really like the UK cover better but to each his own).*
Hi guys, I just finished Extraordinary Means and I realized I haven't posted a full book review in a while. I have so many thoughts about this book anyways that I might as well do one. Just for everyone who hasn't read this book, here's a little bit about it. There's a new strand of TB going around called Total Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (TDR-TB). It's highly contagious, so people who have it usually have to either be on house arrest or at a sanatorium, which is kind of like an institute filled with people with the disease. We follow Lane, who has just been diagnosed with TDR-TB and is moving into a sanatorium called Latham House. While he is there, he finds a girl from his past, Sadie, and the two become friends, but we obviously know more than just friendship occurs. I know.
I finally did it. It took me months to even bother but I have....................finally.............................REORGANIZED MY BOOKSHELF *cues party music*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Goodreads Book of the Month
5 members The reviewers of http://www.onceuponsomefangirls.weebly.com We have monthly books, feel free to ... ButterI TOTALLY DIDN'T JUST MAKE THIS SKETCHY PICTURE OF MYSELF ON POWERPOINT PLEASE NOTE: MY NAME IS NOT BUTTER FOR NO REASON (DEM DOUBLE NEGATIVES DOH). I WILL BE SALTY AND MUSHY AND GROSS AND I AM NOT AFRAID TO USE PROFANITY SO READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. 'Sup people... It's Butter. Please don't think I sound angsty and dead-ish because that's just me after reading until two in the morning. I guess I like reading YA books because they're quite easy to get what's going on and they allow the sluices in my brain to open for all that rush of fangirling. However, I'm kind of being peer pressured into reading classics because "they're better for my reading comprehension" which is a-ok awesome but I'm still a child who dreams of random awesomeness... Not historical fiction. I'm sorry for being "that one kid" and I'm trying to transition, please love meeeee. Also my grammar sucks so please don't judge (Can you tell I'm half dead while writing this?). CaramelHi! I'm Caramel, the mastermind behind all of this. I've been reading forever. Seriously, my family calls me Hermione. My first memorable book that got me on the path of fangirling is the Harry Potter series, that I read in kindergarten. It was the spark for my bonfire of reading. I'll read just about any genre, or anything, truthfully. I'd probably read a bibliography if you gave me that too.
GazelleHey! Gazelle here! I'm the resident PJO fangirl. The first book series I got into was the PJO series, then I read the Harry Potter books. I LOVED them all. I'm also a huge Lunar Chronicles fan. I actually love a lot of books, I don't think I can name them all. To be honest, I'm really not sure what to say next, Caramel just kind of shoved this in front of me and said, "Here, write something about yourself." I don't know what else to say, so if you could just pretend you're reading the most heart-felt thing in the world, laugh, smile, hold this to your heart, and maybe even shed a few tears, then that would be great. Thanks, I owe you one. Bottom line: I like books. A lot.
